How to find the Best Chinese food in Toronto

To find the best Chinese food in Toronto, you must go to the grungiest and dirtiest looking restaurant you can find. I am not kidding. Being Chinese and visiting different parts of Asia I learn that all what we care most in food is the taste. Presentation and ambiance is not our top priority, as we believe in most cases (at least I do) the food will speak for itself. This post is not a list of where to go in Toronto, but instead open your mind for some real Chinese cuisine.

The best Chinese food will also be the weirder things on the menu. If you see chicken balls, don’t order it. It isn’t even a Chinese dish; even my mother would never be caught dead making that stuff. Well, only order if it is really Chicken’s balls, yes we eat that. Just like most countries outside of North America our culture never puts anything to waste, we eat organs and all. The next time you go to a Chinese restaurant, instead of grabbing the English menu ask for the waiter to recommend dishes from the Chinese menu and soon your taste buds will be buzzing for more. One last thing, if you really want a lot of choices for Chinese food, goes to Markham. I personally think the best Chinese restaurants in Markham are way better than the best Chinese restaurants in toronto. They’ve got everything from noodles to dumplings, abalone to chicken feet, they’ve got it all.

Have you ever tried any unusual Chinese dishes? What was it?
