When asked that specific question,
I usually gravitate towards a Pakistani restaurant. My heritage is partly
responsible for that, but largely it is because Lahore Tikka House on Gerrard
Street is the only South Asian restaurant in Toronto that makes me feel like
I'm back in my home country.
Maybe it feels too much like home, but that’s just a part of the
experience. That section of Gerrard Street is mostly populated by South Asian
vendors selling all kinds of items such as clothing, groceries, and Paan, which
is another South Asian Delicacy. Right outside the entrance to the restaurant
you are greeted by a fun attraction, the Rickshaw, a very common form of
transportation in Asia, and imported here to remind us of back home.
Do you know any other South Asian restaurant in Toronto that can
compete with the Lahore Tikka House?
